Fact is, MPVD was a speculative venture that did not work out becuase the value of their diamonds on the market at the time was lower than expected, followed by prices getting crushed by Covid-19 and markets freezing.
Look at the SP curve for LUC.

Provenance is important to consumers
GK is turning up more diamonds than expected.
MPVD will also likely find more diamond reserves.
GK is a well run mine and could be around for many, many years.
If they eventually pay off the debt, what will they do with their generated cash?
