Why we don't see one of the big players take up the challenge of making the chips. Surely, some North american company has the talent and the funds to make that happen!

Hi Odinson, I think that a "chip manufacturing facility" takes specialized construction techniques, and then specialized operational skills that we may not have in abundant supply in Canada or the USA. I agree that it would be very worthwhile to develop those techniques and skills. If we started planning in Canada then we might have a facility in 5 to 7 years.  I think that it is ...more

I think that if we have the talent to design the product, we surely can built it here, in Canada, or the USA. I also think the biggest obstacle is greed, those that use the "chips" in their product look at pennies during the manufacturing process. We could do it alright but products would cost a bit more.Even the 5 to 7 year time line would prevent us from getting into this situation in ...more
