It was originally suppose to be the end of June. Now I've heard end of June/beginning of July. Hopefully it doesn't get pushed back longer then that.

Can someone explain to me how this stock is still at this price with oil @ $74 a bbl?! The merger is happening which keeps the Company  a going concern. The last 18 months have seen revenues improve, net losses reduced, break-even cash flow and positive EBITDA. It is interesting.  A portion of the Newalta employees are jumping ship for other opportunities, a portion working hard (and are short handed) on new projects, the portion that work at facilities just keep doing their job, and a portion are waiting for the axe to fall.  The CEO of Newalta is just a caretaker now, providing nothing to the company or remaining employees, waiting to ride ...more

I ran off at $1.29 after dormancy.  Think the obvious is that Newalta (I am not sure about Tervita) future is much brighter with a booming Albertan oilsands industry.  Heavy oil is a pretty big business for them and it was hurt badly over the past few years. I am really lost and haven't spent time in Newalta as I picked up on better opportunities, but I think the time for Canadian ...more

It's going to be all about Tervita going forward. Newalta's position has improved substantially because of the merger, but it seems any increase in oil prices has been offset by heavy oil doing poorly. Regardless, Tervita's diversified operations and solid financial position will create a low risk environment for Newalta to operate until heavy oil comes back and the cash really starts ...more
