Well consider the meaning of Matthew 6:5
English Standard Version
“And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward.”
These hypocrites are obviously seeking notice for their righteous propriety and to do so in full voice would attract the most attention. What concerns me about Rep Jordan’s performance is just who is he playing to? True Christians don’t act like that, regardless of politics. Fascist Christianity does, as practiced in pre-WWII Germany.
