I’m having trouble working up an apology for alienating

I’m having trouble working up an apology for alienating  certain recent additions on this board.  True it was not my place to speak up, but a celebration of self-indulgence at a time of great personal suffering in this nation seemed so heartless and tone deaf.

I apparently committed an offense when suggesting that a board discussion on steak, scotch, and how long to roast coffee beans seemed so out of touch when millions of Americans are lining up to receive a box of dry goods so their children can have something to eat that night.

Perhaps it was because of the time of year that issue seemed important.  I posted that I found a discussion of coffee bean roasting to be “self-absorbed” and I reiterate that belief.    I tried to choose my words carefully for I have no knowledge of their charitable giving, but rather expressing a focus that seemed to be directed to one’s own pleasures.  Of course there are many people who find no wrong in doing so, but that all seemed so out of place at a time as this.   And perhaps it is just the times – narcissistic behavior seems so distasteful after 4 years of gross self-indulgence at the top.  Mini-Trumps can hardly be expected to avoid criticism.

I have no intent to continue this discussion as I came to realize that my participation was detrimental to the best purpose of this board, and the obvious fact that unlike my critics I found the agitation it caused to be an unpleasant and unwanted addition to my day.

So Nugnu you get the last word, I just hope it includes a donation for the below.
