You know, it could just be a clash of cultures.

You know, it could just be a clash of cultures.  I remember I was about 15 years old, siting next door listening to the Sherriff tell about a morning he stopped at a greasy spot on an otherwise empty desert backroad.  I saw one like that in Orovada when working for the highway dept. over a college summer.   I guess the woman didn’t have anything else to do during the day, but visit with an occasional trucker or bleary-eyed cowboy.

Anyway, after his first drink of the coffee, the sheriff asked the lady behind the counter who had served it, how long had it been in the pot.  She paused for a minute and then said, “Well, I got back yesterday and was gone for three, so …”

May be it is just a case of expectations.  Now we should all try to realize that a mining board is likely to sometimes attract the unwashed and unworthy.  In fact that is probably a decent description of most of Nevada’s historical population.  Be that as it may, a cruder custom of living might be the normal for some who find the roasting of one’s beans to be almost comical.

First thing I wondered was how does he find the time to do it?  Hell, I’m retired and I don’t!   But why not buy a parcel of prime acreage in Honduras so you can share crop some poor peasants at sustenance levels and have real control?  Damn it, a cup of coffee is important!  LOL
