Elko would give U a dimension of scale -or- that has been built into the distrik..
if I hav to go to reno.. i go to sparks.. reno is simply an old cow town and a drive-by..
i kno i harp about the distrik.. but U seriously miss the boat - that elko was not all that diffent rrom yearington B4 ABX moved in here..
Cortez and Phoneix are about a 75 minute drive @ 85mph..
elko is a brand new city and was built w turning money into gold...
the other key.. is SLC is easier to get N2 & Out.. its a 90 minute drive from the airport @ 85..
the other thing.. them casinos in reno are old circa Frank Sinatra; people passedout @ slot machines when U walk in - grease spoons for messy eggs ans slop creamy food...
--> the grand sierra is the only sho in town if U plan to stay in the casino..
myself.. due to the distances here and spotty hotel perks.. i would hop in on a friday ans sky hook on a monday afternoon...

IMHO the closer U get to Class One Cities in the USA (vegas/reno/sac) - the harder it is to move around...

trust me reno is a very old rusty city.. crime - skid row hustlers - waked out cops and really bad food...
elko is hilton - gold coast - or probably red lion..
nevada is a big state but a small town.. average drive time is over 90 minutes..
