To my American friends; you might want to see howthe anti vacs, anti- this , anti- that have behaved reasonably well in their protests in Ottawa ( so far).
There have been a few bad actors desparaging the special people in our history, such as Terry Fox, however so far there have been no significant negative events.
Most likey our canadian gun laws are part of it- and the fact that we have much less economic differences between the rich and the poor. Also efficent things like universal health care are a significant part of our "Socialism".
On that point one of the best societies to look at is Norway!!= they seem to have found a great way to get along, and to enjoy the fact that they are living in a northern latitude ( helped significantly by the warm Gulf Stream)
An interesting point of history is to review what happened when the indigenous tribe that had done in Custer and his last stand soldiers moved to Canada != my understanding is that they were escorted by a large army of US troops yet met at the border by one member of the RCMP!
