"Faith" is "belief" without evidence."

Exactly!  That's the whole point.  If you have evidence, you have fact, you have demonstratable fact you have scientific knowledge.  Faith is the opposite of fact or knowledge.   To condemn Faith for its lack of “Proof” is arrogant to the extreme.  You are entitled to your opinion, but you have no PROOF that you are right. 
 
Look at it this way – humanity evolved on this planet and through the process of genetic variation progressed to today’s point with usually only five means of perceiving and interpretation of the world.  Sight, sound, taste, touch, and smell have proven to be what was necessary for a hominid to survive long enough to successfully reproduce, and then pass along to their offspring the same sensory systems.

Evolution is not like selecting options on a new car.  You don’t just get to select the extra features you would wish to have in a species, but must cope with possessing only a partial perception of reality.  The bottom line is you don’t have all the answers, and neither do I.
