The positive-sense genome can act as messenger RNA (mRNA) and can be directly translated into viral proteins by the host cell's ribosomes.

I am not going to specify my science background or education as it would tend to identify me personally other than to say as an undergraduate I studied Cytology and worked in laboratories conducting scientific research at university -based research stations. Allow me to assure you that my POV is based upon more than the “common sense” of the average Joe. But that raises a very important point about credentials. I judge an idea or POV based upon whether it makes sense, whether it is reasonable. If it doesn’t’ make sense I disagree PERIOD
