RE: China and the futureI always find it fascinating how people apply double standards to countries such as China compared to countries such as the US. When there are some serious issues such as environmental law restrictions some people cry end of the mining industry and that America is nothing but social chaos, drugs etc. But for China they see only greatness. How fast people forget that China has a totally corrupt, undemocratic, brutal political regime that not long ago had to murder thousands of it's own youth in the street and nearly spiraled into civil war. Their banking system is technically bankrupt and most important, that it is really a nation of over 80% peasants who will only tolerate the concentrated wealth in the cities for so long. China is going through what a number of other Asian countries have gone through before and they will soon hit a wall of massive infrastructure requirements, exploding political demands, financial and unemployment crisis etc. There have been many good investments suddenly turn to nothing because of hype on these countries. Just review the entire record of investment in other Asian countries during the last 10 years to see what will happen, and while your at it add in Russia, parts of East Europe, south Europe, South America....look at the record.
There is a reason that the US has become the richest country in the world and these other regions are still very far from ever matching the political, social and economic stability of the US dispite it's problems.
