RE:Compensation BenchmarksHi Stan, Thanks for the comparisons, but it's always dicey ground when you compare two different sectors. CV would no doubt point out that they are apples and oranges.
Having said that, I'm not a fan of the bonuses CV has recently bestowed upon himself. There's the base salary, plus the sizable bonus compared to revenue/EBITDA/net income AND the 750,000 low-price stock options that are valid for a decade. ALL of those benefits combined is what is sticking in my craw, and the craw of many others it sounds like.
This needs to be brought up at the upcoming investor's meeting and we'll see what CV has to say. Personally, I would like to see a bonus based on EBITDA or net income, rather than revenue or other milestones. That is the ultimate bottom line by which a company measures success.
