RE:Canada regulators face activist ire for Trans Mountain variaSadly, lots of misinformation in the previous post from a couple of environmental groups concerning the Variance approval. The following is an excerpt from the actual decision:
Trans Mountain must file with the CER, 2 business days prior to commencing installation of NPS 30 pipe at the Mountain 3 horizontal directional drill, a letter signed by its Accountable Officer confirming that:
a) Trans Mountain has conducted chemical and mechanical testing2 of a sample of the procured NPS30 pipe sufficient to validate the stated material properties in the Material Test Reports from each pipe manufacturer; and
b) the pipe and components procured for the Mountain 3 horizontal directional drill segment conforms to TMEP pipe and component specifications
