IEA raises 2024 oil demand growth forecast again

 

LONDON, Jan 18 (Reuters) - The International Energy Agency (IEA) on Thursday further raised its 2024 oil demand growth forecast citing an improved economic growth backdrop and lower crude prices in the fourth quarter, although its outlook remains much lower than that of producer group OPEC.

"China will continue to lead oil demand growth in 2024, with its expanding petrochemical sector gaining an ever-larger share," the IEA said in a monthly report.
