Big Risk Taken to Buy Shares

Big Risk Taken to Buy SharesThe average closing price of NVO from June 30 - July 10, 2017 was $0.83. If the deal was made to sell the Newmont shares during this time frame then the price of $1.60 was almost double the current price. This might have seemed like a great chance for Newmont since this was before the announcement of the bulk sample results on July 12.
Now would a public company take such a risk and offer to buy these shares for almost a 100% premium to the current price, spending almost $19 million, without trenching or drill results? I think it unlikely. That leaves private companies and very wealthy individuals who understood the BIG picture.
