BHP to increase uranium outputBHP is planning to increase uranium production from 4500 tonnes/year (~9.9 million pounds) to 19,000 tonnes/year (about 41.2 million pounds). Uranium is a byproduct for BHP and will be used to co market copper to China. Any uranium not contracted can be sold at spot no matter how low the price is.
