RE:RE:Ecuador Shuts 2 Lines That Carry 500,000 bbls/dayI think they are likely having same problem here as Transmountain Pipeline did with massive rains.
Heavy rains or flooding in Ecuador are removing and washing the soil that covers the burried Pipeline. This erosion causes "issues" as the soil and ground the pipline is burried in helps maintain the integrity of the steel.
Exposed pipeline with washed away soil wouldnt be able to handle as many barrels...be a risk of a rupture.
