Doesn't look like today! I'm more or less new to oil stocks.  Oil is up today, most oil stocks are down. Any logic?

Oil up, oil stocks down.    That's often a sign of forced selling  Some people try to hedge gains in one by selling the other    If they decide, or are forced to close out there position you will see stocks go down while oil prices go up if one side is thinly traded (the small stock side for example) the result can be quite obvious Once over the normal ...more

Thanks, so if I get this straight, for example some would be moving from OBE to oil in order to offset loses on OBE with gains in oil. Or taking profits from the big move over the last couple of weeks on OBE to catch the gain in oil.

UK has announced its removing all its Covid restrictions = Covid is over Other countries will follow Oil is likely on its way to $100 boe Those that sell oil (without having hedged) will make that much more and become that much more valuable  OBE is well positioned and Bargain priced.

John...I have a buddy in Texas that I was talking to on phone. Frac crew spreads are hitting the highways inlines of trucks like an army invasion. The rigs and frac equipment was built during the last boom, it's ready. 12 million dollar rigs waiting to work. Speculators don't care...short term. They have the potential to sink 2022 for us with this bs. A tidal wave of oil will hit ...more

That maybe what your friend is seeing. My friends saw a lot that equipment get sold (or foreclosed) for scrap over the last 2 years, and the operators get jobs elsewhere.     All the unused equipement from 2019 and all their crews, have not been standing on the sidlines waiting to go back to work.   Must of that stuff has been sold off, and the crews are doing other ...more

I fairly sure Inplayoil's Ceo Doug Bartole has said in the past on those podcasts things he does with NOBLE....that a sweet spot for oil exists. That eventually the cost increases of drilling a well and other inflationary pressures outweigh the benefit from oil prices increases. This sentance is lost on "50%" of investors. And stellar rigs have to be available as smaller Canadian ...more

Yeah today mostly energy stocks are flat with oil up.... Part of it has to be the forward looking fact that USA shale oil especially Permain will throttle even harder then expected.  EIA is slow to today... With oil over 85...Permain is going to gain 80-100k barrels each month prob until June and then pace will listen. Failing to grasp how this is positive.
