Operating in the Philippines is difficult to say the least;  perhaps you saw this news release, if not here it is, see if it helps. The Philippines operation is a separate entity and it appears that this IPO is a demand of the Philippines government---so does it dilute the overall company, I suppose it has to indirectly, how much??? Thanks I thought about it further and did some looking. I guess its not diluting the shares, however we are really selling off 20% of didipio and listing it to the PSE as required.  All is all, we got back in the Philippines and the cash from the listing will reduce debts. With free cash flow this company should be debt free soon.  Then we can start sharebuyback on TSE recoup ownership ...more

Mr. T.  Did you want to know, if you don't already know, how much the Philippine government takes from Oceana?  Or do you want to remain at peace, happy.  It's ridiculous, but Oceana somehow eeks out a living there.  IMO

T.  Oceana went through turmoil a few years ago, indigenous groups essentially tried to shut Didipio down for good, advocated for no FTAA---Oceana prevailed and is to all accounts a good corporate citizen environmentally, socially;  Philippines relies on massive influxes of hard currencies, remittances, from Australia, Canada, U.S., Great Britain, Arab states etc.  I think that ...more

Psy I agree, I am thinking from a few years ago, OGC has really brought things along and position themselves well for higher gold price.  In my opinion we are now at a rerating stage upwards for this stock now the foundation is set.  For those who are wondering what are the foundation, the built out of haile underground, sorting out didipio and stating to explore more there and their ...more

I'm only in these lower priced intermediates, OGC, NGD my largest positions---I see them both doing well as Q1, Q2's come out provided POG sustains current levels---arbitrarily $2200 is more than enough given financial projections are stated at far less POG.  We have to think that the Philippine offering will bring more eyeballs.  I see the new conservative coalition in New ...more
