HEDGE FUNDS : without Institutions, they will suck rocks cause they lend them the shares which are on Margins called NAKED SHORTING.
iNSTITUTIONS: They are the ones who have analysts on the payroll and tell you what they think of the co.(buy,sell, perform, under perform and ect) They are the same one who lend the HEDGE FUNDS the so called shares under marging(not yours if not fully paid), so they get $$ to lend the HEDGE FUNDS.
MARKET MAKERS; They are the upfront guys who will make sure the above 2 get their way.
IIROC AND SEC: suppose to guard your investments but they get paid by the markets and when transactions go through the DOW or TSX get commission on transactions.
SUCKERS: well that's US, we're the crumbs that fall off the table.
If you catch the wave you make money, but if you don't you lose. While the above are telling the sky is the limit, next thing you notice you're investments are sinking.
