New shareholder

Hi everyone

Im a recently new shareholder . I decided to invest in this company after looking at all the variables . In my research , ive discovered a lot of false starts and disgruntled shareholders . In life , nothing goes as one expects . I'm hoping that they finally are a bit more focused . I'm not particular on researchers runnning a company . They like to research , lose focus . My expectations are a bit less than most here . I see it going to 5-6 dollars . I'm fine with that as from the current shar price , thats a good win . I think they have something obviously but just dont see anyone stepping up with a muti billion buyout . 500 million range i can see . I'd be happy with that . Im wondering if the recent federal budget will move things up . For our american friends , they introduced an increase in the capital gains tax from half to two thirds . It comes into effect june 25th . Just some random thoughts - heres hoping for the best .

Welcome. And further to your comments, the 2024 Canadian Federal budget unveiled Tuesday, had the federal government increasing the inclusion rate of the capital gains tax from 50 per cent to 67 per cent for businesses and trusts.  The proposed change, if adopted, would come into effect on June 25, 2024 and would be a date that any Canadian company looking to acquired would want to have ...more

As I posted ... the proposed capital gains tax change to 67.5% from 50%, if adopted, would come into effect on June 25, 2024. Consequently, any Canadian company looking to be acquired would want to have the acquisition announcement of itself to happen before that date. As I pointed out, should an acquisition announcement be made before June 25, 2024, the current 50% capital gains tax would be ...more

Hey spesestemper....is there any way you can try to post something a little more phony?....you hit the upper megaphony mark with that one, but we're used to newby's coming here and hitting up closer to the gigaphony range.....keep trying though....never get discouraged....you definitely show promise

Even I have to agree with Peladawn on that one spesetemper as ONC was trading close to 10 dollars when they did the consolidation and there is no way the company should go for any less than that considering how far they have come since then.

inthno  I get everybody wants a huge payout , i wouldn't mind it myself . I just cant see it . Even if things all line up for them . I think it is still awhile for anyone to profit from it . If they get an offer would it not be proper to inform the shareholders and not wait for the homerun offer .
Comment by inthno on Apr 18, 2024 7:35pm
I wish it were that simple but not all offers are put forward by the company to shareholders and it's not that we need the home run offer, just something reasonable and 4-5 dollars a share is not reasonable as the company has almost 500 million in losses that can be written off by a purchasing company. Now as to how they are going to procede is another questions, Does the company prefer a ...more

Would you prefer a partner buyin as opposed to a full buyout . EX- partner taking a percentage of the company in return for funding the trials . This would dilute the present shareholders .

Equity: It’s becoming increasingly popular for biotech partnership deals to include equity in the startup as a portion of the upfront fee. This strategy can benefit the biopharma company’s accounting — equity typically isn’t included in profit and loss (P&L) reporting like a cash payment is, but it still gives the startup an infusion of cash and a big, splashy upfront number. It also ...more

Sorry new shareholder spessestsemper, you have it all wrong, since ONCY is not a startup and none of us are interested in either biobucks or or equity in exchange for a percentage of the company. We have are seeking an all cash acquisition of ONCY and no airy fairy business development deal, the kind that you've tried to describe. If ONCY managementis prudent such an all cash acquisitionof ...more

BTW spesestsemper, I have already posted ad nauseum on this subject of ONCY's  acquisition,  so your coming into this connversation with the lack of insight that you have tried to present, is not what's welcomed. But thank you for trying anyways.

Im not here to ruffle any feathers but I just dont see the math on getting a multi billion dollar deal . The aquiring company is taking a lot of risks of something getting delayed and the time to market . Hence i see the lower buyout price . My fear is that they try to do things on a shoe string and just keep drawing things out for a long time . Insight is a funny thing - hindsight is usually ...more

Well while you may not see the "math", as you described, others do and I've already described ONCY's or acquirer's path to an Accelerated Approval. I am not prepared to rehash old debates with you or anyone else, so I suggest that you do quite a bit more due diligence rather than describing your fears" as a newcomer. If you were so fearful, what ate you doing here now ...more

And ONCY is a late-stage development company that has "de-risked" its platform asset in the treatment of multiple cancers with orphan, and unmet treatment needs,  thus making ONCY a prime late-stage clinical development acquisition candidate for Big Pharma. Do your due diligence before posting again, because you obviously haven't thus far.

Is it a 1B-2B buyout or 4B+? We all hope it's a 4B+. But what is playing against us ... time is running fast and BP probably see us as a possible cheap target. Do we have in Matt the man of the situation to get the best deal? Have a Good friday all.
Comment by Angler101 on Apr 19, 2024 7:41am
Well then, Les, why don't you call up the company and offer up your expertise?
Comment by Buckhenry on Apr 19, 2024 12:33pm
The forever pumpers just can't stand someone with a different opinion. I guess they like a dictator form of rule. Reminds me of the woke goofballs.
Comment by Peladawn on Apr 19, 2024 12:45pm
Poor little Bucky....you just can't get it, can you....us shareholders don't mind someone with a second opinion.....we just prefer that it's one that is substantiated by fact and possibly even a little common sense.
Comment by Galaxym31 on Apr 19, 2024 1:33pm
