Dec 2023 report...

Great report and happy to read that the Repsol drill results are better than expected. Lets hope Peytos next earnings report is better than the streets expectation.

The report indicates that the fundamentals for Peyto are fine. Eventually the share price will skyrocket when the market comes to its senses.

It would not be hard to beat the street.  I am just happy to see progress with a hint of optimism. Nice to see all four rigs turning (what happened to the fifth?) and making hay before the big snow flies.  Hopefully tie-ins can be completed before there is a deep cold forced shutdown. What I liked from the report is that even though production is at its highest, the liquids percentage ...more

I am hopeful they will keep the fifth rig in storage and simply keep production at current level (125k boe/d) and payback some debt. AECO prices for 2024 are mostly below $2.10cad/Gj except for Nov-Dec. With the Repsol acquisition, some production will be sold at spot, with no profit margin. They have proven in the recent past that growing production in a flooded market and hedging it below $2 ...more

I knew I didn't just dream up a fifth rig.  Perhaps storage is the best place for it until prices improve. Is there enough revenue in 125k boe/d to pay for everything and debt too? In the monthly report I also liked that that they are way ahead in meeting methane reduction limits. I have always felt that the production could be cleaner than the product and it would make it more ...more

"The question remains:  Where is the bottom?  Where is the bounce going to happen?" Don't we all know we'll have the answer weeks after the fact? The real question is: Where to buy some shares when the risk/reward is there? The dividend yield is not a parameter in finding the answer, in my book. Actually, it could be your worse ennemy if the EXPECTED probability of a ...more

I find myself agreeing with a lot of what you are stating but I do have another question. If we are not aiming for the bottom here,  what are we keeping the powder dry to buy? GLTY and all

As we all know the bottom is never achieved day to day but.....If u believe in Peyto longer term? Then that is where the power of dollar cost averaging comes into play.

What makes our decision making more difficult is that the 52 week high and low are shown at the close of the TSE/NYSE.  For instance the 52 week low is shown as $10.28 for PEY, while I did buy 2k at $10.71 CAD, as I posted previously. I was lucky, because that price was only good for  a couple of hours, as I recall. So If  the retail investor wants to catch the low of a stock, he ...more

I will dollar cost average down when I have missed the bottom and the share price falls way further down than I thought it would go which means I totally missed the bottom or some kind of black swan event occured.   But picking close to the bottom right off the bat is way easier and much more satisfying.
