PROBE MINES COMMENCES MCFAULDS LAKE AREA DRILL PROGRAM NORONT’S DOUBLE EAGLE PROJECT
Noront Resources Ltd. (“Noront”) is pleased to report that it has been advised by its joint venture partner Probe Mines Limited (“Probe”) that Probe has begun a winter diamond drill program over the Company’s Double Eagle project located in the McFaulds Lake area in the James Bay Lowlands of northern Ontario.
Probe optioned a 50% interest in the Double Eagle project from Noront by agreeing to spend a total of $2 million on exploration by September 2007 of which $750,000 must be spent by June 2006. (See press release dated December 21, 2005)
Airborne and ground-based geophysical surveys over the project areas have identified in excess of 50 conductors which have yet to be drill tested. The current program will constitute an initial drill test of several of these targets.
Noront is a tier 2 junior resource company on the TSX Venture Exchange, trading symbol NOT, with 54,132,692 shares issued to date.
