RE:RE:RE:RE:Here's what to look forward to:It's only natural for people to hope for the best when faced with adversity be it in the market or elsewhere in their lives! If you can control your emotions during trades, you'll have a good chance of success. If you can’t, you’ll almost certainly fail.
Reading tea leaves is an art. There is a lot of deliberate misinformation in various forms of disguise and camouflage out there that it becomes necessary to separate the wheat from the chaff. TA and charts are great for high-quality companies. PTM isn't considered a high caliber company! It doesn't mean that it can't happen. The odds are certainly against them in the current climate but they're not alone in that regard...it's a dog eat dog business and only the strong and shrewd survive. Hence all the consolidation of late and more to come.
There are enough coals in the fire for PTM to reach higher price levels. Platinum doesn't need to skyrocket although it certainly wouldn't hurt! It's just a matter of time before PGM stocks start regaining their luster. When the cycle turns so to will PTM amongst others.
The best buying opportunities tend to be found when prices are low and depressed for extended periods of time. One should be selling into a rising tide and buying as it recedes. One stands a better chance at winning the lottery than trying to predict the bottom with PTM. Rest assured that the tide will turn in this sector at some point. It's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when. It takes TIME and lots of it to make money. Time and patience are needed if you are a metals player and that's assuming you are in the right securities. Yes, every once in a while you'll get lucky on a penny...I wouldn't bank my retirement on them.
There are no guarantees that PTM will ever succeed, period. I like my odds here and will continue to follow the money. Surely, the financial institutions that invest in other peoples hard earned money aren't relying on hope and a prayer... or are they? I'd be remiss if I didn't say that they are a little more insightful than your average mom and pop retailer.
You say you aren't Mr. Negative and aren't bragging...well, there hasn't been a helluva lot to be positive about lately and I wouldn't consider having sold out to break even after holding it forever braggadocious. Seriously, you sold, move on. Nothing worse than having those that have gotten burnt suddenly appear and want to become saviors...why?
I'm seated at the table waiting patiently to be served whatever it is the market has on the menu for 2018 and beyond. I assure you I have eaten humble pie in the past and am aware of the possibility that it could be served up once again here...that, my friend is not my fear it's my choice.
A Happy And Prosperous New Year To All
Hope springs eternal.
2018... and beyond!
