Actually, it wasn't a hoax... it was just not fined tuned... and didn't deliver consistent results. So it was mostly Hype on a non economic process(in an equilibrium market)... at the same time the solar grade silicon prices plummeted... to a more reasonnable price compared to cost cirve of the industry!
That was timminco.
FerroAtlantica is doing solar grade silicon with the plant material they bought in an auction after timminco's bankcrupcy.
