Hi Uncle, I had to research this further, And I agree that indeed, it is not pie in the skie, and that it a very well thought press release
A very schoolarly article about the various ways silicon has been studied for use as an anode in Lithium-Ion batteries
The association betweeen HPQ, to produce high quality solar Grade silicone, and PYR to essentially manufacture a nanopowder which would meet a battery producer's exacting chemical composition makes a lot of sense. Possibly a lot of USD $30,000/kg orders down the road! Cheer!
