RE:Pyrogenesis CEO response to question regarding torch=burner Based on what Peter answered, my understanding is that the plasma torches have to be of equivalent power as the burners, because the swap is 1:1. If you have a 1MW burner, you'll need the same amount of heat that is effectively going into the process in the furnaces, so approximately 1MW torch. I imagine there will be some differences as the efficiency of the torch and burner are not exactly the same, which should be beneficial for using the plasma torch.
Can somebody confirm if there is any reference that states the power of the Torches being used for the first client? I had assumed it was 1 MW but can’t find it anywhere.
Could it be that it’s 2MW? @$3-4M per? From Pyrogenesis’ NR 2020-03-04:
https://www.pyrogenesis.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/01/2020-03-04-PyroGenesis-Receives-Final-Payment-from-RISE-Energy-Technology-Center.pdf “An iron pelletizing furnace typically uses dozens of high-power burners (typically between 1-5 MW).” If the 100 burners in the 2nd client's furnaces are more powerful than 1 or 2MW, say 3-5MW, I'm assuming they will be more expensive than $3-4M per... although I'm not sure about this. It’s very possible that this potential contract with the 2nd client is larger than has been estimated on the board.
Regarding the modeling contracts, keep in mind that the work is done through computer software, so they don’t actually have to have a torch that is larger than 1MW at hand, like the one they sold to RISE. They can do modeling for any client regardless of the size of their burners. The main difference as Peter said for modeling is in the furnace configurations:
“Technically speaking different clients would have slightly different furnace configurations, which is one of the reasons we are being asked to start with modeling. There is some customization, but that is negligible. The basic torch design and fabrication, for all intents and purposes, would not change much.”

I will pass that on to the team; I am sure they will appreciate hearing it.
With respect to burners and torches, yes, the burners would be replaced one for one with plasma torches of equivalent power. In the case of multiple torches our auxiliary equipment (such as cooling water system) would just be scaled up, so no issues there.

Hope that helps,
