Guess what I did today?(or didn't do) I held my shares. Didn't sell. I'll be holding for years still, hopefully decades! I wanted to buy, and I honestly would've, but I emptied my dry powder on two other companies a few day ago(one being HPQ at $1.01).....
Anybody can sit here and call wolf over and over, but the problem with that argument, is that there isn't a wolf around here. NO WOLF!
Turn off your phone, your computer, your radio, and go enjoy life for the next couple years, and come back to see that your $9 or $12 or $4 a share investment in pyrogenses is worth hundreds. No need to stress, unless of course you are listening to those who are trying to manipulate you, and feed off of your fears.....
Many in the stock market define RISK as beta, the amount of price variation a company's share price may experience over time...... I LOVE price swings!
Many others attribute risk to pure market capitalization, thinking that just because a company has a higher total value, they are less likely to fail.......That's a bunch of dogbiscuits!
RISK, as Warren Buffett, Joel Greenblatt, and many others teach, is about knowledge. Knowledge of what you are buying.
If you are buying something that you do not know a hell of a lot about, then you are TAKING RISKS.
This risk can be hedged by buying the company when it's shares are being sold at a discount, or with a hgh Margin of Safety.
If you bought recently at $10cdn, I sure as heck hope your bought it there because you believed it was super cheap relative to the companies intrinsic value..... And if that is indeed the case, then buy more now or hold! You de-risked your investment when you figured out the future value, and bought at an enormous discount to that.
If you recently bought at $10cdn, but did it because the stock price had cgone up over the past few days and weeks, and tech is hot, well, where I am from we call that risky. You get what you deserve!
My ownership of Pyrogenesis in share count has only increased, it has never shrunken, not by a single share. I tell you this, not to impress you, but to let you know that I have experienced the share price drop over 20% on several occasions this past year alone, and all I did was add to my position, and all that happened is my net worth increased considerably.... With every drop I added, and my Net Worth grew later on.....It's down right now compared to last month, but oh well, it'll be much higher the next time the downward slope happens again.... I might even buy more at that time, who knows ;)
