THE USE OF PLASMA TORCHES IN BLAST FURNACE IRONMAKING*

Westinghouse tried their hand in replacing coke in blast furnaces with plasma torches in the eighties .long long time ago .
yes we didn t invent the wheel :)

Qute from article
Westinghouse Plasma Corporation’s (WPC) plasma technology was developed over a period of 30 years with an estimated $100 million invested in research and development (R&D).

Loss of integrity of melting electrodes surely affects reliability of industrial processes .
Plasma torches have to ensure even heating and stable performance at all times .

how will pyr compensate for diminishing performance of electrodes .

it is not as simple as it seems .

westinghouse is already in chinese hands .
who is running after whom ? In the race for the best iron pellets .:)

waiting for the news like everybody else
