The uptick rule change in 2007 was in United States. Canada was 2012 you are absolutely correct that insiders are making billions off shorting but that's not the cause of hpq's woes. Shorters don't put pressure on a stock to 40 or 50% at least. GameStop was 140% short ...now that's naked shorting.

It was gold silver diamonds and oil. And of course there's the gold pilings... Then they added blockchain and crypto helium, lithium graphene hydrogen to the endless pile of get rich quick schemes. All green now instead of gold..

Venture continues to be loaded with tons of  junk stocks producing zero revenue for decades and changing their name every five or ten years so people forget about the history. uragold hpq bgf is a typical example of over 20 years of changing names changing stories and producing not a penny in revenue not a tiny wafer thin  penny.  

Of course I could be wrong . Three months of asking and still all the pumpers haven't produced any evidence of a penny of revenue.

Most tsxv  simply delist after five years of paid promotion scams and pumping and dumping. And nobody is scammed big enough to lay charges and the suckers move on buying more penny stock dreaming of riches that will finally come from these penny stocks. wash and repeat..

Of course Canada never laid charges over breX or yorkton. Canada is a white collar crime capital of the world.  OSC enforcement is a joke. SEC it's serious but highly overloaded. HPQ isn't subject to SEC directly but PYR absolutely.  

If you think HPQ stock is being driven down by shorters you are a fool. It's $0.30 down 80% off its peak with seven years of the everchanging sillycon story  after decades or more of gold stories but somehow apparently  never generating a penny in revenue while  selling millions and millions of dollars of shares.

What business on the planet can go decades without generating any revenue and still somehow be in  business? Even that joke Ballard generates revenue.

The stock was six cents two years ago what in God's name makes you think it's worth anything more since they produced 0 revenue  in 7 years since its latest name change.  As it's diluted further and produced  nothing overtime it's hard to justify it being worth 1 penny. Oh sorry it's going to $100 that's right... 

Wait it's not the joke performance and ever changing stories it's the shorters... that's who's to blame for hpq's woes.. Yeah that's the ticket.. Oh wait they're not shorters they're naked shorters woo Hoo they're the evil empire. 300 million shares on the street but apparently there's evil evil naked shorters. 

These  are just like those evil shorters who attacked the wonderful Nikola.. I'm sure he would have got the truck working sometime , let's see if he can convince the jury. Sadly despite being proven to be a complete fraud the stock still trades at $4. Sucker born......

TSX Venture & predatory short-selling

An investor's observation on another bullboard:

"It is interesting to see that if one looks at the TSX Venture chart going back to 2007, the exchange is down about 75% since then.  In otherwords it has been in a decline for well over a decade.  All major exchanges in North America will show a positive increase over that timeframe.  So it begs the question, how much of this is due to when the tick test or uptick rule was removed by the regulators (in 2007) which provided some protection against predatory short-selling.  

Yes, it will definitely be nice to get off this exchange.  It won't necessarily change the current share price in this current market climate, but I would think recovery of stocks in general will recover better over time on the TSX vs the Venture.  Clearly things don't recover on the venture when you have an exchange that continues to be in decline for over a decade."

An incontrovertible fact if you ask me!
