Let me tell you a story

Let me tell you a storyIn the summer of 2019, the publisher of a newsletter called me.

He asked me if I could write something for him.

Someone had given him my name.

He asked me to write about a company I wasn't familiar with, and I freely admitted to him that I wasn't, but I told him I'd look into it, and that if I fostered a strong opinion either way I'd write something for him for a small fee.

The company was called Canntrust.

At the time, it was the second biggest publicly traded cannabis marketer in the world by market cap.

The next day I went to the local library and researched it for 3 or 4 hours.

I didn't like it, and I felt strongly that way.

At the time, the company was only cap'd $2 billion.

I went on to write a piece that was published at 6:30 am on July 24th, 2019.

When the market opened 3 hours later that morning, the stock opened down $100 million in the company's market cap.

By noon the CEO was fired.

By 3:00 pm the Chairman resigned.

The stock went to zero.

The company no longer exists.

You're welcome to read the article I wrote.

Google "Whither Canntrust".

Be sure to spell "whither" correctly.

It was a play-on-words that connected the title to the last paragraph, but the editor messed it up
with his intro.

I have no qualms about expressing my opinion about anything.
