For those I don't it is largely motivated by a significant loss I took when I didn't do the dd I should have and got sucked in by promoter's- even promoters on market place on TV that were investors and I suspect pumped that I bought .
They say losses hurt more than wins
I have made way more than I lost, and was able to live off passive income in my 40s from investments-but it still burns me.
My excess now will go to a trust to help others and that money was to go there.
So it didn't hurt me directly but did take away from what I wanted to give
So I delight in uncovering bargains as well as shining a light on promoters who promote the narrative without facts.
Stupid I suppose but it's cathartic.
