RE:RE:New Press Release - PyroGenesis Announces $450K Contract for the Sale of a Plasma Torch/Furnace System for Advanced Green Cement Development

RE:RE:New Press Release - PyroGenesis Announces $450K Contract for the Sale of a Plasma Torch/Furnace System for Advanced Green Cement Development@deedeemgee Looks like PYR torches could soon become standard issue in cement plants worldwide. Cement production currently is so high in CO2 emissions that civil engineers are encouraged to limit its use where possible… potential game changer if you’re a producer, esp as PYR torch usage will likely be competitive if not cheaper on Opex and even Capex.

@ordos @deedeemgee And then once all is filled with Pyrogenesis torches comes the perpetual service and parts revenue stream.

@Beach..Bum This is big news today, a real ground floor opportunity for PYR in the cement industry. This is not for the everyday type of cement. I really like this paragraph from the release.Under the terms of the contract, PyroGenesis will design and build a system tailored for lab-scale cement production applications. The system will include a plasma torch, a refractory furnace, and the required gas, power, and cooling components and peripherals. The system was contracted to provide the client the type of increased power and heat levels required for advanced cement development and testing, but without the fossil fuels and resultant emissions a gas-fueled system would normally generate. Subsequent phases may require a refractory lined reactor and other systems for additional development.

@deedeemgee You can’t deny it’s a possibility. PYR has been working with a furnace OEM for a few years now, and the relationship with Heidelberg has obviously been going on for some time as well. When I say standard issue I mean available as a replacement for cement plants looking to replace old burners or buy new ones for new plants. The tech works, just a matter of getting it going commercially which is exactly what it appears we’re witnessing. At 450K per torch we’ll see much more rapid adoption in cement than in iron ore. IMO of course, but if I thought it would never happen I wouldn’t be posting here

@ordos I think $450k is for the lab scale furnace. For commercial scale furnace the power and cost will likely be higher.
