RE:EarthGrid - 2 mails I gotLooks like This 1st Yr (Yr 1) it's about Proof-of-Concept Demonstration ! / maybe 1 or 2 Small Projects

If 7 Torches per Boring Machine -- they'll probably need 28 - 49 Torches to really get rolling ! -- at least Swapping & Alternating 2-Boring Machines (with 1 - standby Backup) for 1-Side of any Tunnel (My Guesstimate)

For both Sides of a Tunnell (approx. 4-Boring Active Machines + 1-Standby Backup) @ 7 Torches per Machine = 35 Torches

To Really Get Started I'm thinking they do 2-Small Projects, 1-Single Side Tunnel + 1-Double Sided Tunnell -- to Prove Co$t Efficiency, Shorter Time Accomplishment, 100% Green Tech !!!
