Algoma Steel does not recycle scrap metal

So, Algoma has no use for the electric arc furnaces that the pumpers are touting on this board. Those furnaces, with their 8 torches, are used in the recycling of steel scrap.
Algoma is a steelmaker. That's a company that receives pelletized ore and smelts it, producing steel from raw. The machines and processes used in that industry are entirely different.
Nice job pumping, tho'...

Please explain how do you melt the pallets to make steel? You need a or multiple furnce to melt the pallets to make steel and melt the scrap metals.  My understanding you combine the melted pallets and melted scrap metals to make steel.  Can somebody from Steel Industires confirm or explain the process to make steel. Bigger question is how do you reduce GHG?  Alogma CEO on BNN ...more

Algoma Steel is likely sticking with proven electric arc furnaces to melt scrap metal not some new technology in the form of plasma torches. The 70 % figure often touted is relative to steel making via coking. I'll never say never but the steel industry already has good technology at its disposal to reduce ghgs if it so chooses. Having previously worked with this company I can attest to their ...more

hk1966, I am not sure what you are smoking? As you indicated 70% GHG reduction by existing steel maker and no change to the process. Why would you think Canadian Governemtn will give Algoma $400 million if no improvement to steel making process?  Sure like you are on the shorts on this board.

Bigmoe ... Couldn't have said it better.  These shorts are ready to lie, manipulate to not be torched! Indeed, this shorts tried to make us believe that 70% GHG reduction was already a done deal.  So indeed, why would the gov. have given 420M$ in subsidies if the target was already reached! These shorts are so pathetic.   _________________________ BIGMOE - (7 ...more

Big moe you are so rediculous in your revenue predictions even inventing revenue with Algoma because you think it would ve a good idea if PYR provided their torches for a new furnace.  I think it would be a good idea too, but right now it is nothing more than a pipe dream.  You are the worst pumper on the board right now.  I dont knownif you are incredibly enthusiastic and stupid or ...more

You need to better inform yourself of reality. 70% is a number that reflects the reduction in ghg IF Algoma Steel converted its standard coke based blast furnace to an electric arc furnace on a ton for ton basis. Guess what Trudeau was there the other day to play Santa Claus (other than to buy votes)? To give Algoma Steel $400 million so that it could build a new blast furnace so that in theory ...more

Ok so what is your point here?

I presume you are referring to my comments about Algoma Steel. Bottom line for the over the top pumpers out there is that people will expose your BS. So before people blast me as a shorter or whatever else I do believe in this company especially their tie in to HPQ and several other lines of business but cut out the horse stuff that anyone with half a brain can discern as nonsense

Algoma could go to an induction furnaces which has many advantages one being no electrodes to replace.  The Gap Narrows Between Induction and EAF Rising demand for steel products, a greater environmental focus, and induction furnaces’ increasing capacities make the choice more compelling for steelmakers Induction melting uses no electrodes and are more environmentally ...more

Poor little gojo. He forgot to put a hat on this weekend and boiled a portion of his cerebral cortex. But, that’s okay, gojo, since you are an investor in Pyr, we accept your apology.

Is that little feck still bashing PYR? A true imbecile...as a minimum. Don't think he owns any shares so not sure why he's here except that maybe it's his dislike for uncleron? Poor little gojo, glad that you've been in my iggy pile for a long time now. If you're short, best to cover NOW!

gojo is the name of an industrial hand cleaner..very handy stuff to have...for the working man , not for typing pansies, of course. Fumed silica is now another division to add to the long list of plasma technologies Pyrogenesis is bringing to the world...perfect timing ....the fumed silica market will explode when Pyrogenesis produces cheap+ green+ huge volumes of fumed silica, like no company can ...more
