RE: MATSON SANDSI'd like to offer a little info on this company.
I originally bought into QEC back in 2003 when they were first trying to get in the Nahani formation at Beaver River. It was a high risk, high reward target. I'm personally familiar with the Nahani, as I work for a different company that produces from same zone, about 20 miles North of Beaver River, just inside the Yukon Territory. The play didn't work out, as the zone was much more compartmentalized than expected, and they got a TON of water. (very difficult to get rid of salt water at those remote locations, they can't just pour it in the river!)
They also went WAY over budget to get these poor results, largely, in my mind , due to the inexperience of management in working these extremely remote areas. (You just can't imagine how difficult it is to get equipment up there, its a little like driving to Antartica.)
Anyways, the stock went from 1.10 down to 0.15 in no time, so the stock I had wasn't worth selling. They have done well in the mean time with other plays, and I'm happy to hear they have gotten some potential production out of the Matson Sands ( I believe this zone has high permeability and porosity) and using "High Artic" has been a real positive. They are the best in the business at accesing remote locations and getting the job done. I'm still hoping however, theat they will find an opportunity to re-enter the Nahani formation again. The potential in that zone could turn this into a 2-3 dollar stock. In the mean time, lets hope they get some good production from the Matson.
