Without gov't action(s), the drug/oil co's (thru lobbyists) do as they please in unbridled fashion. This sort of control makes no difference if you are already well, off which many on this bb are; if you are not of that ilk life gets much more challenging than it needs to be. Scandanavian countries seem to have a reasonable standard of living socialism and all... much, much better than the good ol' USA - for the majority anyway.
Anyway, PHM's model reduces overall healthcare costs, which is the primary reason many of us are invested.
