WOW! $2 per iPhone / iPad

WOW! $2 per iPhone / iPad I guess Apple figures they have nothing to lose by going to trial with these kinds of Royalty numbers floating around.  $2 per WiFi enabled device sold by Apple over the past 5 years equates to hundreds of millions - bordering on a Billion+ dollars even!  Then throw in the distinct possibility of wilfull infringement damages and it boggles the mind.

The uncertainty here is the fact that the 802/222 patents have never been challenged in court and Apple feels their case is a strong enough defense to let a jury decide.

IMO Apple's defense is based on smoke and mirrors in an attempt to baffle the Jury with their BS.

It would be an injustice if WiLAN were to lose this lawsuit, but you just don't know until the verdict comes in.

Sweating Bullets...
