It sounds like you've been in this since about the 1st half of 2013 -- it's around then that the pattern you describe starts to become apparent. But I'd hardly call that "so many years"... or maybe my horizon is just different than yours...
In any event, I agree that there has been for quite some time a consistent and relatively large number of shares that simply get "played" or traded. This has to do with the high retail ownership levels, imo. I think this may change if Wi-Lan can establish itself over the next few quarters as a solid little cash cow.
