This will become a short but not just yet. The shadows around the corner is Elon musk Starlink satellites launched by space x. Service coming this fall to north eastern USA and bordering Canadian cities like Toronto. Musk says doing this to reach rural areas that have no coverage which is true. However why not hit the major cities. Latency is better than fibre
I think he is being polite at the moment but this has to be a major risk for all the internet players out there relying on point to point fibre.
In time Starlink should be able to take all the internet away from the incumbents.
