FuzzyEverytime i post or take good posts from IV & post them here it is to help improve this board - but wham - Colon appears with her BS."
Fuzzy, I have not said I thing to degrade this stock. You are without doubt referring to the post about Vitamin D .....which is not BS. If anything it may enhance what the RVX drug may do.
Are you saying that the Framingham study is BS also?
Did you read this:
"“A growing body of evidence suggests that low levels of vitamin D may adversely affect the cardiovascular system,” he continued. “Vitamin D receptors have a broad tissue distribution that includes vascular smooth muscle and endothelium, the inner lining of the body’s vessels. Our data raise the possibility that treating vitamin D deficiency, via supplementation or lifestyle measures, could reduce cardiovascular risk.”
and this:
"As we age, however, the endothelium becomes leaky, allowing lipids and toxins to penetrate the endothelial layer and enter the smooth muscle cells. As a result, smooth muscle cells gather at the site of the injury, and the artery loses some flexibility. In response, the endothelium signals white blood cells to congregate along the cell wall. These white blood cells produce pro-inflammatory substances, such as leukotrienes and prostaglandins, as well as damaging free radicals that attack the endothelium (Touyz RM 2005). Toxins soon begin to penetrate into the arterial wall, where lipids such as LDL, cholesterol, and triglycerides accumulate and become oxidized."
My point is that we don't only want the RVX drug to work on removing LDL, we also want something to smooth the endothelium so that the LDL doesn't jam up again and it appears that Vitamin D might do that. In my opinion, Vitamin D can work with the RVX drug to help keep the arteries clear of LDL.
For your information there is a multitude of studies being done on Vitamin D which is not really a vitamin. It is the raw material,a pre-hormone that is converted to vitamin D by the liver and then to the active form of vitamin D by the kidney.Vitamin D is no longer just considered for good bones . There are Vitamin D receptors throughout your body .
Do you have any ISIS? The news spurted that one today.
