RE:RE:RE:RE:Race for battery Ni Well at this point absolutely nothing that I can can confirm ....you would have to go back and look at FT news releases to January 2021 and forward ....there is a inference that the two could be talking unless you know of another "processor" with facilities ...FT claims it's down to two sites to process it's ore both brownfield and one with facilities hence I think they must be talking.
our S. CEO has been clear in interviews that he see Battery metals and critical metals are an area that we in S would like to expand its horizons in the NA market ....he is not doing that with Cuban Ni ....the Nico deposit is loaded with With a unique deposit of cobalt, gold ( about 1.5 billion in gold) copper and the worlds largest known deposit of Bismuth....( bismuth is a CM as well )
The USA, Canada and Eu have included cobalt and Bismuth in the Critical metals agreements they have and driven by the obvious electrical transformation that the world is in.
given so many factors revolving around BMs and CMs the world over ....if Sheritt is looking ...the Nico deposit has what we need and it's located in Canada....the Nico deposit requires a technical miner, ideally that has facilities and technologies, which we do.
so all I am saying is that this looks to be a good possibility for S....Nico has the gold to pay for what ever is needed and put plenty in the bank and further position S as a legit Canadian source of BM and CMs.
on top of what is known at Nico...there remains plenty of possible resource expansion and further FT holds the Sue Dianne copper silver site north of its cobalt gold deposit ...the whole package could set S up for the next 40 years and be a Canadian source.
I have held S for over 20 yrs ...where is our future? we have a new CEO...who is a deal maker and has a vision of direction of the possible future of S along with the proven technical abilities to develop processes for others ....why not for us ? and I doubt it all revolves around Ni and Cuba....so yeah it's speculation for sure but many of us here have agreed that a Canadian deposit and source for our future would be a great thing ....battery metals and critical metals are the future, the Nico deposit has the potential to pull the gold rich ore out first and that's money in the bank and certainly pays for any facility or expansion needed at S ft sask or development of a new brownfield site.
I don't think this is too far out in left field that there could be a connection we could capitalize on. I don't expect S mgt to say D-ck but the FT crew is saying something and reading between the lines leaves few possibilities and I think we at S are one of them. Anyway just spec and my opinion.
it's a new world out there and S needs to expand its horizons.
