ProShares Short SmallCap600 T.SBB

Primary Symbol: SBB

The investment seeks daily investment results that correspond to the inverse (-1x) of the daily performance of the S&P SmallCap 600 Index. The fund invests in financial instruments that ProShare Advisors believes, in combination, should produce daily returns consistent with the funds investment objective. The index is a measure of small-cap company U.S. stock market performance. It is a float-adjusted, market capitalization-weighted index of 600 U.S. operating companies selected through a process that factors in criteria such as liquidity, price, market capitalization, financial viability and public float. The fund is non-diversified.

Predictions

PredictionsJust for the fun of it, anyone have any predictions on what will happen next? We already have AlwaysLong's prediction - namely, that the deal will be approved, but that if the deal fails, SBB will spiral downward into a black abyss, perhaps never to recover. Seems a bit pessimistic to me!! But if the deal gets voted in, what will happen to the share price? That is an equally interesting question. Personally I don't think the market is that excited or cares much - I don't see BTO getting much of a bump either way - its all about the gold price, and if gold keeps going up, BTO will follow, with or without SBB. If SBB shareholders turn down the deal, I think there may well be a temporary drop in the SBB share price, as McLeod has investors worried now about what might be wrong with SBB given the SBB BOD recommendation for the lowball deal, but it will bounce back up and never look back in time, as gold goes up and the mine gets closer to production (and Glencore returns to Hackett River!!). Or BTO or someone else offers a better deal down the road to take it over. All quite fascinating - I wish I was watching from the sidelines rather than wondering what is going to become of my hard-earned investment, but it is what it is!  Should be an interesting week - best of luck to all regardless of what happens.
