Granges partners with Rusal

In the news release: ‘Rusal notes that its aluminium-scandium product ScAlution is tailored to the automotive market, as the aluminium-scandium alloy help lighten vehicles, thereby cutting emissions and boosting gas mileage.’

Scandium has a bright future, but as I’ve said before, the scandium market right now is not an attractive place for a junior (scandium wannabee) to operate in.

"Aluminium alloys with competitive pricing, high electric conductivity and workability will replace copper-based products already in the market.” Are they talking about electric motor copper windings being replaced with scandium aluminum alloy? The weight savings would be significant and with the price of copper the cost would be competitive.

Rio Tinto, Rusal, who's next? The one thing Nyngan has going for it is it's only $100m away from a scalable supply of scandium with a 100 plus year resource. The world will need Nyngan.

Northmark, I agree, SCY's scandium time will come. But please let those majors do the heavy lifting and get this thing moving! And in the meanwhile, SCY will focus on other opportunities ;-)
