When I get up in the morning and look out the window, everything looks the same. There's even some sign of spring in the air. But then I read the morning news and that tells me the world is coming apart around me!
Why does everything have to be so difficult? All I want is a measly couple of million dollars. That's not all that much to ask for in the overall scheme of things. (I play the fiddle, and that sounds an awful lot like the Fiddler on the Roof!)
Why is it all so difficult? Someone once said to me, "Nobody said it was going to be easy, Gerry!" , and sure enough the cowardly lion had a comment to make about that...
" Ain't dat the troot. Ain't dat the troot!"
So, carrying the simile a little further, I have to say that nowadays I feel like Robert Redford must have done in the Sundance Kid when Paul Newman grabs his hand on the edge of a humungous cliff and says, "Jump!"
