good tidbit on kids accts - otherwise skip

Hi Mineshack, kids are 17 & 19 (son is the oldest).  I have their accounts in trust but am rolling them over into a tfsa in my name and my wifes which will really be theirs 5k at a time so they dont get nailed on taxes down the road (this tidbit is why im posting not inboxing).  Over the holidays I was at the gpr store looking at silver bars and the kids became intrigued.  They know what they own but I think actually seeing the bars fascinated them.  At the time I added their birthday money I let them make the choice amongst several stox and they chose gpr.  (ps not bragging its quite embarassing but just from my parents on xmas they walked away with $1900 much of that went into slx, and their birthday money was similar).  GPR was at a high at the time but  I think there are good things coming - I hope they start making it easy for the market to see just what a cash cow it can become.  Anyway it worked out well.  They also like looking at the book value of their slx versus market value.  Yesterday I had FVI's chart on SH and I asked my daughter (who was asking about it)  if she knew what Fortuna meant.  She said fortune, I told her it means " lucky" as she is very lucky with her portfolio as I would say at least 50% of what I have bought for her has tripled and usually quite quickly.  Anyway my apologies to the board if this was a useless post, which is why the header is what it is.
