RE: RE: who is shorting SMF

RE: RE: who is shorting SMFI think you have the most plausible reason on why SMF was the chosen victim of the shorters.

As some poster said, paying a dividend would chase all the "rats" away, but it's rare for small mining companies to part with their cash.  Cash is always needed for so many things.  If you spend that cash the only alternative would be borrowing debt or dilute the equity by issuing more shares (Yike!).

The other options already discussed were for insiders to buy some shares in the open market to stead investor confidence.  This symbolic gesture can go a long way.  As well, I suggest the company to announce a share buy back plan.  This would scare the shorters off since now they would be losing their shares if they try this sell down the SP game.  The beauty of a stock buy back plan is there is much flexibility in doing it.  In fact, you can just say you have such a plan but do no buy any shares back at all!  Talk about high stake poker!  I'm all in (not)!!

March 16, couldn't come soon enough.
