Great minds seem to think alike. 

I've been eyeing New Gold for sometime but I have no money to invest in it.  I'm always fully invested so for me to get into NGD I've to sell something else.  I already pared my positions on QUX and SMF to the bare bones and I just don't want to exit either of them entirely, yet.  Come January 2, 2012 that's another story.  I will likely flip to NGD regardless since I would have 16 months to pay the capital gains tax on both (2012 sales and taxes are due on April 30, 2013).  That's if NGD is still catchable by then (I hope).

Yes, taxes do have to factor in my trade decisions.
