RE: RE: RE: RE: newmont mining the most ideal suit

Hello rishshah:

Let's make one thing perfectly clear.  I'm no shorter, and shorting is despicable.  It's not investing and it destroys companies - like SMF - which has been heavily shorted since November 2010.  Check my past posting on this issue on how I despise shorting.

Next - let's give you that your Newmont will takeover SMF.  How much would they offer?  Let's say $10.25, that being a 53% premium of the $6.70 closing price as of yesterday.  The reason why I pick $10.25 is because I sold 40% of my SMF holdings at this price last year.  I thought I sold cheap then but if I waited until now I would be giving that away.  How many takeovers would give you a 53% premium?  Please check before you answer.  Very few.  The point is I did not get rich when I sold for $10.25 and I doubt anyone else would in a "real life" takeout, as compared to a "dream world" takeout.

I know I know what is life without some fantasy?  Especially in investing.
