This is not investibleI bought some yesterday, thinking the sell-off was overdone, based on no information.
Then I saw the video clip of the slide. Based on that, and aerial photos from the company's latest 43-01 on Copler, it would appear to me that the slide ran down the drainage toward the village of Copler, but did not reach that far, which is very fortunate.
This appears to be the same drainage that contains the tailings facilities (on the same side of the valley that the person taking the video, opposite from the heapleach).
I would imagine that this event will call into question the stability of the tailings as well as any future leach pads, which in turn calls into question whether the mine will even re-open.
Very difficult situation.
Luckily, I was able to exit with a small profit after coming to that conclusion.
Which, of course, could be wrong.
